Growing up and being from an artist family, for Karynne, has meant working with mark making tools and paper from a very young age.

Art, and creative thinking was a way of life for our family.

Much of her recent works are illustrations, inks, paints and graphite.

Between being a chef and visual creative allows a flow of ideas between the two worlds.

Karynne creates in many mediums.

Commissions are available.

Karynne studied fine art at East Sydney TAFE (now the National Art School) and Sydney College of the Arts, as well as training as a chef, she has worked closely with Slow Food Sydney and leader for a time.

Karynne studied printmaking and still creates Goco and lino cut prints as cards.

This creative journey has been through food and nature.

Living and studying a masters on food culture and art has had profound influence on her work ideas.

Again working with Arabesque Di Latte and seeing ways of creating art with food had additional influences.

Nature, and native birds being another key influence.

Our birds are noisy and have spirit. Our animals are unusual and unique, our native foods (bush tukker) nutritious, unusual.

Many works are food and nature related.

Karynne enjoys exploring ways to be the mark maker and to capture images with a sense of design and fun, as well as detail.
